Introducing Suffolk Singers
|
|
Suffolk Singers is a small, sociable choir of 25-35 regular members. Our conductor, Rob Goodrich, is the Director of Music at Framlingham College and joined the choir in November 2004. Our repertoire is mainly unaccompanied and ranges from music of the Renaissance to folk songs, spirituals and light music. We hold 4-5 concerts a year and in addition we sing at a wide range of events including weddings, entertainments and music festivals. Unusually, we currently have spaces for two basses, please see details on the Joining Us page of this site. Over the last 18 months we have developed a connection with Claire Weston, a previous E.N.O. principal soprano. She came to run a singing workshop for us in October 2006 in place of our usual rehearsal, and we loved it so much she has come back on a regular basis to give us the benefit of her considerable talent. Our most recent workshop being in April 2008. Our aims as a choir are to enjoy ourselves, sing beautifully, and work hard to improve. Suffolk Singers are members of Making Music. |
