Mary
Crehan's work incorporates hand-made paper, cloth, screen- and
block-printing, as well as hand and machine embroidery. This creates
a highly textured and painterly surface.
Architecture
and stone carvings found on Neolithic sites, as well as the Irish
landscape, particularly the Burren, County Clare, are some of
her sources of inspiration
Mary Crehan is a member of the Embroiderers Guild, Suffolk East
Branch. She is a founder member of TAGS (Textile Art Group, Suffolk)
and YEG (Young Embroiderers
Group) for Suffolk East,
a member of the Surface Design Association.
